Dear Bladenboro Middle School Families,
Welcome to a brand-new school year at Bladenboro Middle School! I am honored and excited to serve as your principal as we continue building a school community that puts students first and supports them as they grow into thoughtful, capable leaders.
This year, we are taking a bold step forward with a school-wide focus on student leadership and personal accountability. We believe every child has the potential to lead in the classroom, on the athletic field, in clubs, and most importantly, in their own learning. Students will be challenged not only to meet academic expectations but to take ownership of their goals, choices, and progress. We will work intentionally to empower our students to speak up, solve problems, and hold themselves to high standards.
Of course, success doesn’t happen alone. Your role as a parent or guardian is more important than ever. Regular conversations at home about grades, attendance, behavior, and effort make a huge difference. When parents follow through, check in, and partner with us, our students thrive. Let’s work together this year to make sure every Bulldog knows they are supported and expected to give their best every single day.
We are also welcoming a statewide change in cell phone policies that supports our efforts to create focused, distraction-free classrooms. The new policy limits student access to cell phones during the school day—a shift we believe will allow students to be more engaged, present, and connected to their learning. We appreciate your support in reinforcing this policy at home and helping your child understand the importance of being fully present during the school day.
Thank you for your continued trust and partnership. The year ahead is full of promise, and I’m confident that by working together, staff, students, and families, we will build a stronger, more successful Bladenboro Middle School.
Let’s make it a great year!
Jennifer Marlowe, Principal
